This book contains a selection of revised and extended research articles written by prominent researchers participating in the international conference on Advances in Engineering Technologies and Physical Science, held in Hong Kong, October 20–22, 2021.

This book demonstrates revised and extended research articles written by prominent researchers participating in the conference. Topics covered include engineering physics, communications systems, control theory, automation, engineering mathematics, scientific computing, electrical engineering, and industrial applications. The book offers the state of art of tremendous advances in engineering technologies and physical science and applications and also serves as an excellent reference work for researchers and graduate students working with/on engineering technologies and physical science and applications.

Dr. Sio-Iong Ao finished his doctoral research in the University of Hong Kong and postdoctoral researches in the University of Oxford and Harvard University and is a former visiting professor of Cranfield University, UK, and University of Wyoming, USA.   Oscar Castillo is Professor of Computer Science in the Graduate Division, Tijuana Institute of Technology, Tijuana, Mexico. In addition, he is serving as Research Director of Computer Science and head of the research group on hybrid fuzzy intelligent systems. Currently, he is Vice-President of Hispanic American Fuzzy Systems Association (HAFSA) and International Fuzzy Systems Association (President of IFSA). Prof. Castillo is also Chair of the Mexican Chapter of the Computational Intelligence Society (IEEE). He also belongs to the Technical Committee on Fuzzy Systems of IEEE and to the Task Force on “Extensions to Type-1 Fuzzy Systems.” He is also a member of NAFIPS, IFSA and IEEE. He belongs to theMexican Research System (SNI Level 2). His research interests are in type-2 fuzzy logic, fuzzy control, neuro-fuzzy, and genetic-fuzzy hybrid approaches. He has published over 100 journal papers, 7 authored books, 16 edited books, and 200 papers in conference proceedings. He has been Guest Editor of several successful Special Issues in the past, like in the following journals: Applied soft computing, intelligent systems, information sciences, nonlinear studies, fuzzy sets and systems, JAMRIS, and engineering letters. He is currently Associate Editor of the Information Sciences Journal and the IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems.   Prof. Hideki Katagiri is Professor of Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at Kanagawa University, Japan. He is also Visiting Professor of Hiroshima University, Japan. His research and teaching activities are in the area of operations research and computational intelligence such as mathematical optimization under uncertainty, soft computing, and data analysis. Prof. Katagiri served as the chair of IEEE SMC Hiroshima Section Chapter (2008–2010) and was Visiting Scholar at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (2014–2015). He is an author or a co-author of more than 100 refereed journal papers and several books.   Dr. Mahyar Amouzegar, Provost and Senior Vice-President for Academic Affairs, is Chief Academic Officer for the University of New Orleans. The Provost, through the Office of Academic Affairs, is responsible for managing academic programs and support units and the policies and practices that affect the academic success of students at the university. He coordinates strategic planning and initiatives, promotes faculty excellence in teaching, research, and services, and expands opportunities for engagement and outreach in the local, state, national, and global spheres.   Dr. Alan H.S. Chan obtained his BSc, MPhil, and PhD from the University of HongKong. He has a wide range of research interests in human factors, work design, and occupational safety and health and has published more than 160 papers in SCI journals. Dr. Chan has been contributing to his profession and was elected as Fellow of Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, International Ergonomics Association, Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, Institution of Engineering and Technology, and the Hong Kong Ergonomics Society. Dr Chan was President of Institute of Industrial Engineers (HK) for 96/97 and twice President of Hong Kong Ergonomics Society (03-05, 09-11). He is now Associate Professor of the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management, City University of Hong Kong, and Chairman of Occupational Safety and Health Council.
