NetScape 2 is a Web browsing program. This guide to the program covers the installation of the software onto the Windows operating system and using its advanced features. It offers step-by-step guidance for beginners while working as a quick reference for professionals.
More than 75 percent of all people browsing the World Wide Web use Netscape, in part because of the program's many powerful features. Netscape 2.0, the browser's just-released major upgrade, offers even more features - all of which are fully explained in this new Visual QuickStart Guide. Using the VQS series' proven rich graphical approach, the book helps readers go from installing the software to using its advanced capabilities. Netscape 2.0's new features include a built-in emailer, a much-improved bookmark editor, support for superscript and subscript text, and a new plug-in architecture that allows seamless integration of Quicktime movies, Adobe Acrobat PDF documents, and Director multimedia presentations right into Web pages. For those building their own Web pages, for whom Netscape is the overwhelming application of choice, Netscape 2.0 includes dozens of improvements - ensuring that the Netscape 2: Visual QuickStart Guide will appeal to that growing group as well.

Elizabeth Castro began working with the Macintosh in a software development and distribution company called CTA, in Barcelona, Spain. Her first project was the translation of an OCR program into English, which was quickly followed by the translation of Aldus PageMaker (version 3!) into Spanish. Castro's department, Publications, was soon translating other programs from Aldus, as well as software from Agfa, Farallon and the Wheels for the Mind magazine for Apple Computer Spain. In 1990, Castro founded Pagina Uno together with Oriol Carbo. One of Pagina Uno's first projects was the translation of The Macintosh Bible, 3rd edition, into Spanish: La Biblia del Macintosh. It was a great success, thanks to the unerring tone of Arthur Naiman combined with the brilliant translation of Jose Rafael Garcia Bermejo (affectionately known as Coti) and Oriol Carbo, among others. Pagina Uno published several more Peachpit books about the Macintosh in Spanish and also began to localize Adobe products like Photoshop, Premiere and Dimensions into Spanish. In 1993, Castro left Pagina Uno (and her beloved Barcelona) and returned to the US to edit the fifth edition of the Mac Bible.
