The first section provides a brief overview of blockchain technology, including its concepts, history, technology genre, major related companies and typical application scenarios, and presents an ecological map for the blockchain industry by comparing and analyzing some mainstream platforms.
The second section systematically introduces Ethereum and HyperLedger, exemplars of well-known open-source blockchain platforms, and demonstrates how to conduct blockchain applications development based on the two platforms.

Prof. Liang Cai serves as Vice President of the School of Software of Zhejiang University, Deputy Executive Director of Blockchain Research Centre of Zhejiang University, President of Zhejiang Blockchain Technology Research Institute, Deputy Director of Technical Committee on Blockchain of China Computer Federation. His main research areas are in blockchain, cloud computing, fintech and information security. His team developed an independent, controllable alliance blockchain platform, which is recognized as the core technology platform on blockchain and testified by blockchain national standard of China. Qilei Li is the Assistant Director of the Blockchain Research Center of Zhejiang University, he is a Member of Technical Committee on Blockchain of China Computer Federation. He has published more than 20 academic papers in top journals and held more than 10 China national invention patents. He has recognized among top-notch creative talents in Ningbo City. Xiubo Liang is a Postgraduate Supervisor and an Assistant Director of the Blockchain Research Center of Zhejiang University, he is a Member of Technical Committee on Blockchain of China Computer Federation, an expert of China Financial Standardization Technical Committee. He has engaged in blockchain, intelligent information processing, financial information technology, and mobile Internet research and development for years, he conducted or participated in more than 10 national and provincial-level scientific research projects, such as national key research and development plan, national science and technology support plan, National Natural Science Foundation of Zhejiang Province, and applied research of public welfare technology in Zhejiang Province. In the career, he has performed more than 20 projects entrusted by enterprises and institutions, published several SCI/EI search papers and obtained over 10 patents in blockchain.
