The aim of these two meetings was to promote discussion and interaction among academics, researchers and professionals in the field of ubiquitous computing technologies.
These proceedings reflect the state of the art in the development of computational methods, involving theory, algorithms, numerical simulation, error and uncertainty analysis and novel applications of new processing techniques in engineering, science and other disciplines related to ubiquitous computing.
James J. Park received Ph.D. degrees in Graduate School of Information Security from Korea University, Korea, and Graduate School of Human Sciences from Waseda University, Japan. From December 2002 to July 2007, Dr. Park had been a Research Scientist of R&D Institute, Hanwha S&C Co., Ltd., Korea. From September 2007 to August 2009, he had been a Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Kyungnam University, Korea. He is now a Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Department of Interdisciplinary Bio IT Materials, Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech), Korea. Simon James Fong graduated from La Trobe University, Australia, with a 1st Class Honours B.Eng. Computer Systems degree and a Ph.D. Computer Science degree in 1993 and 1998, respectively. Simon is now working as an Associate Professor at the Computer and Information Science Department of the University of Macau. He is a Co-Founder of the Data Analytics and Collaborative Computing Research Group in the Faculty of Science and Technology. Dr. Yi Pan is currently a Regents’ Professor and Chair of Computer Science at Georgia State University, USA. He has served as an Associate Dean and Chair of Biology Department during 2013–2017 and Chair of Computer Science during 2006–2013. Dr. Pan joined Georgia State University in 2000, was promoted to Full Professor in 2004, named a Distinguished University Professor in 2013 and designated a Regents' Professor in 2015. He received his B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in Computer Engineering from Tsinghua University, China, in 1982 and 1984, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh, USA, in 1991. Yunsick Sung is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Multimedia Engineering at Dongguk University Seoul, Seoul, Republic of Korea. He received the B.S. degree in Division ofElectrical and Computer Engineering from Pusan National University, Busan, Republic of Korea, in 2004, the M.S. degree in Computer Engineering from Dongguk University-Seoul, Seoul, Republic of Korea, in 2006, and the Ph.D. degree in Game Engineering from Dongguk University Seoul, Seoul, Republic of Korea, in 2012. He was employed as a Member of the Researcher at Samsung Electronics in Republic of Korea between 2006 and 2009 and was the Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Florida, Florida, USA, between 2012 and 2013.
