Edge Computing
Institution of Engineering and Technology (Verlag)
978-1-78561-940-3 (ISBN)
From architectures to models, technologies and applications, this book focuses on the Edge Computing paradigm due to its unique characteristics where heterogeneous devices can be equipped with decision making processes and automation procedures to carry out applications across widely geographically distributed areas.
This book provides valuable insights for ICTs engineers, scientists, researchers, developers and practitioners who are involved in developing and implementing edge and cloud-based solutions ranging from sensors and actuators to cloud-based back-end systems.
Javid Taheri is a full professor at the Department of Computer Science of Karlstad University, Sweden. His areas of interest include profiling, modelling and optimization techniques for private and public cloud infrastructures and software-defined networks, and network-aware scheduling algorithms for edge, cloud and green computing. He is the recipient of the prestigious IEEE TSCS-MCR award in 2019. He is the editor of the IET book Big Data and Software Defined Networks in 2018 (ISBN: 978-1-78561-304-3). Shuiguang Deng is a full professor in the College of Computer Science and Technology, Zhejiang University, China, where he received a PhD degree in Computer Science. His research interests include edge computing, service computing, mobile computing and business process management. He serves as associate editor for the journals IEEE Access and IET Cyber-Physical Systems: Theory & Applications. He has published three monographs. In 2018, he was granted the Rising Star Award by IEEE TCSVC.
