Presenting clear and understandable instructions from a remote location is generally a challenging task due to the vast diversity of operable objects in the modern world. The growing public interest and acceptance in augmented reality and the omnipresence of smart-devices has enormous potential to bring information representation to a new level. Because augmented reality offers an intuitive and understandable way for presenting additional information, and the computational power of smart-devices grew rapidly in the past years, these two combined form a good basis for presenting additional information in everyday life. Here, a method of describing instructions as AR Overlay is presented, which is able to describe diverse tasks in an intuitive way, like performing car maintenance, or depicting how to play a song on the piano.
