This innovative new text provides a solid foundation in both data abstraction techniques and practical problem-solving skills. Readers learn to solve problems using the most effective techniques available whether object-oriented or traditional. To help readers choose the best problem-solving method, a special section describes what makes a "good" object. A focus on time analysis techniques and a wealth of practical programming tips also reinforce the importance of efficient program design. As this title is cowritten by Walter Savitch, it provides the carefully constructed pedagogy and flexible topic organization for which he is known. Plus, there are a variety of learning tools, including case studies, shorter programming examples that illustrate specific concepts and techniques, pitfalls, design techniques, and programming tips that help readers learn to make good programming decisions. 0805370862B04062001
