This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Parallel Problem Solving from Nature, PPSN 2013, held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, in September 2014.
The total of 90 revised full papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 217 submissions. James Smith, Professor für Afrika- und Entwicklungsstudien, ist Direktor des ESRC Innogen Research Centre in Edinburgh und bekleidet eine Ehrenprofessur an der Universität von Johannesburg. Er hat mit zahlreichen internationalen Organisationen zusammengearbeitet, unter anderem mit Oxfam.
