He is an award-winning columnist for Linux Journal, has had articles featured in PC Magazine and TechTarget, and isan accomplished Linux author. He speaks frequently on Open Source software.   Benjamin Mako Hill is a Ph.D. candidate at the Sloan School of Management and Media Lab at MIT, and an Assistant Professor of Communication at the University of Washington beginning in the fall of 2013. As part of the founding Ubuntu team, his charge at Canonical was to help grow the Ubuntu development and user community during the project’s first year. Mako has continued his involvement with Ubuntu as a member of Ubuntu’s Community Council governance board and through projects such as this book.
