Sir Richard Blackmore (1650_1729) was deeply affected by the Protestant poetic trends in England, which favored the Sacred Scriptures as a source for what was termed 'divine poetry.' Michela Pizzol Giacomini graduated Cum Laude from Ca'Foscari University in Venice, Italy and holds a Ph.D. in Languages and Literary Studies. She is a tutor and continues her research in the Bible, the English language and literature.
