Anne F. Widmayer is a Professor of English and Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Washington County. She researches the intersection of playwriting and early narrative techniques, gendered emotions, and gender-policing. She is currently working on articles about the Chevalier/ière d’Éon and the playwright-novelist, Mary Pix.
