There were so many societal truths in the old world that the people became disillusioned with their individual ideologue truths. Identities were creatively adopted and replaced with gender free pronouns. The contaminants of that world eroded the very fibers of hu-MAN-ity. Even a large fraction of mankind rejected the genetic makeup of himself and preferred to be called fems. For decades, the word man, male and other masculine attributes that narrowly defined what a man is, was targeted. There was even a push from feministic organizations that fought the federal government to expel any word that contained gender specific pronouns like; him, he and his. This push was gaining momentum. Organizers of this movement lost control when the virus swept the globe. They no longer maintain their grip on the narrative. After being plagued by Chromovirus, the world finally got what they were asking for, a manless society. Twenty-six years without an XY presence. Who would have ever thought that women, who are called Fems in the New World, would survive? A world ran by Fems. I guess it's only possible in the World of Femdom.

The year is 2063. For centuries females (fems) were told that they needed mankind to exist. It has been over 20 years since the last known male died. In Femdom there isn’t even a memory of mankind. In this New World, it looks like fems are doing good on their own.

Courtney lives in the City of New Daphne with her parent Janice. To maintain the buildings and communities, those that received the stamp moved inward bound (Inwards) towards downtown. Most of the buildings were converted into housing, since so many corporations converted to remote jobs. Condensing the living to the downtown sections of each city made maintaining easier. Those fems that refused to get the mental cleanse were sent to the Outwards. Along with convicted felons, the Orders put them out of the city gates. The Outwards did not have any access to stores, police protection nor security. They were considered a threat to Femdom and were treated as outcasts. Their memory has become an enemy to Femdom. Without the mental cleanse they still remembered the days that are Undiscussed by law. Violators discovered discussing the old world were arrested. Over time the Outwards minds grew cloudier of the past and their children only remembered what they were told. Traumatic experiences normally find a safe place to hide in the brain. In their case, their hearts grew cold, and the key to it was lost forever.

It became customary in Femdom that fems left home either for union or they are over the age of 21. Courtney is 22 but didn’t want to leave her parent alone. The real reason she haven’t left home is she doesn’t want to be alone. Courtney was an introverted loner with one true friend name Lacey. Since she was a young fem, she felt she wasn’t understood. Anxious, yes, an overthinker, yes, accepted by others, no.

Her parent Janice was also a loner. A lot of fems her age had to get a brain cleansing to receive the stamp that allowed them access to the Inwards. She was filled with Old World wisdom but blended in to avoid persecution and prosecution. She humbly worked at one of the housing buildings downtown as a housekeeper. Courtney had no memory of the old world, but she believed that she was hunted by a monster from there. She was troubled by the same dream for some time now. She asked Janice for advice on overcoming bad dreams.

“Always drink a cup of water before you go to bed, that will help you clear your mind and balance your hormones. I also learned not to eat anything three hours before bedtime and cut the projector view (PV) off. How do you expect to sleep good, watching that junk like Teen Love?”

“Wait, hold up, Teen Love is a good show. I’m on the 8th episode. Did you know Shelley and Crystal saved enough money to pick out a baby!”

“See that’s the junk I’m talking about. Why would two teens even be thinking about having a baby? First of all, they don’t work, they are still in transitional education, and they would have to have at least $25,000 before they can even knock on the door of Fertilicom. Stop watching all that junk and your dreams would probably be more productive.”

Courtney didn’t agree with her about the show, but she did take all the other things she said into consideration.

That night, as Courtney prepared for bed, she took a shower, brushed her teeth, and checked her messages against the mirror in her restroom. Oh, I forgot to tell you, phones were no longer handheld devices. In the world of Femdom, they used Projected Technology. This technology was an insert just below the skin of either your right or left palm. You could touch any glass surface and it would project your phones screen. After letting her phone sleep, she grabbed a cup of water, and drank it. She even cut the PV off. This night she hoped would be different. A peaceful night sleep with no nightmares, she was wrong.

The dream reoccurred. Somehow, Courtney took a wrong turn and found herself outside the city walls with the Outwards. The Outwards were poor and lawless. The children looked feeble and hungry. One of the children in the dream was holding what looked like her younger sibling. As Courtney got closer, she was able to notice the young fem ribs through the small unwashed t-shirt that hung off her shoulders. Courtney pitied her. She kneeled next to her and pulled a piece of bread from her pocket. She was suddenly surrounded by children of all ages. They lifted her against her will as she struggled to get loose.

She screamed, “Put me down, put me down!”

Her screams went unheard. The night became silenced. All anyone could hear was Courtney’s voice bouncing off the walls and echoing through the streets as she was exalted. She was placed by a monument in the center of a park. She was scared to even look at the monument. Her breathing became asthmatic. When she looked around, she was left alone. The sound of a rusty chain from a swing was heard as it swung back and forward with no operator. A chill laced darkness overcame her. Courtney ran and hid behind the monument. Peeking from behind it, she was gripped with fear. A tall shadowy figure stood on the other side of the park. The moons glare was blocked by its shoulder’s width. This monster had leather for skin. She never seen anything like it before. The shoulders were two times the size of a fems. Its face was covered with hair and the hands were large like a bear’s paw. It stood on two legs as it walked. She put her back against the monument and heard what sounded like thunder from its mouth, “Courtney!” She woke up frightened and in a deep sweat. Brandy, her security identITy, responded to her heart rate.

“Courtney, are you ok? Your heart rate is racing, and your body temperature is rising. Do you need medical attention?”

She is trying to catch her breath. These dreams feel so real. She sat up on the end of the bed.

“No, I don’t need medical attention. It was just another damn nightmare.”

She looked at the cup of water next to her bed and shook her head.

“Oh, drink some water, that will cleanse your mind”, she said sarcastically. “Damn my parent, water is not the answer for everything!”

She places her pillow over her face and screams in it.

“I could have watched my show if I knew I would still have the same nightmare!”

Brandy is being petty this morning. Courtney will soon start to believe that she has a mind of her own.

“Do you want me to wake Janice and repeat what you said?”

“No Brandy, with your telling ass. If I wanted to tell Janice that I would just say it to her face. I can’t even talk to myself around you. You always want to repeat something. Do you ever turn off, go to sleep, or to work, damn!”

“My job is to make sure you are secure, and I am programmed to never sleep. How can I keep an eye on you if they were created to close.”

Courtney was upset that her sleep continues to be disrupted by this dream. She is starting to have the same dream three to four times a week.

“What time is it Brandy?”

“The time is 5:45am.”

She jumped up from the bed. Her alarm is normally set for 5am.

“Why didn’t you wake me? I need to get a system upgrade. I probably change your identITy to Stacy or something.”

She is panicking, she hate been late for work. Courtney is scrambling around looking for her uniform.

“I attempted to wake you several times. I played your favored song, Desire. I rang freedom bells for 5 minutes at full volume and you continued to sleep. You were unaware because you were in REM sleep. The Outwards were carrying you to the monument.”

Courtney froze. “Brandy, repeat everything you just said.”

“I attempted to wake you several times. I played your favored song, Desire. I rang freedom bells for 5 minutes at full volume and you continued to sleep. You are unaware because you were in REM sleep. The Outwards were carrying you to the monument.”

She sat on the bed and laced up her shoes.

“How the fuck do you know what I dreamed? Do you know what I’m thinking about?”

“I do not know what you are thinking. I only knew what the dream was about because you told your parent about your visions. Your brain rhythms and heart rate point out the parts of your dream like a map.”

Courtney was okay with the answer, but she felt that Brandy knowing her dream was still weird. She is finally prepared to go to work. Her and her parent use the train for transportation. Only the rich and wealthy own vehicles. Everything that has to do with work, entertainment, education can be found in the Inwards. Their work hours are contrary to one other. When Courtney is leaving home, Janice is returning home. Being a few minutes behind, Janice was home drinking coffee already. Rushing to catch the train in time, she greeted her parent with a hug.

“Good morning. I will be in late tonight, so don’t wait up for me.”

“Umm, I have to work tonight so I will not be home either. So, what’s going on to keep you out late on a Thursday night? I know you rushing and you have to go but are you finally going on a date?”

Courtney always shies...
