David Bello, son of Jessey Bello and Mayuka Ndelle grew up in one of Africa's smallest country. He had a beginning which was extraordinarily painful that he ended up in an orphanage at the age of four after the unfortunate death of his father. The Red Briefcase his father left behind had a secret which could have solved their nightmares, but his mum could not find it after doing thorough searching. A killer who mistakenly broke into their home luckily found The Red Briefcase in David's house. The police went after the man and caught him, but the whereabouts of the Red Briefcase became more difficult after the man got killed by the police. But even after defying all odds and became a multi-billionaire construction magnate, David still needed the secret in The Red Briefcase to be able to reach the ultimate success and joy of his life. The Red Briefcase which got lost more than two decades ago could only get to him by a miracle and breaking of codes.

LAST HOUR ….Chapter

S

ix security men each armed with a gun rushed and used the elevator to get to the third floor. David had run into the kitchen and locked himself. He took a sharp knife out of the kitchen cupboard for defense and hid behind one of the cookers. He was so scared that he held his breadth to avoid making any noise.

The guy moved into the room after breaking the lock with a metal hook. He walked into the bedroom looking for David and before he got out he heard the roaring alarm system that was switched on by the security guards to alert all the inhabitants of the hotel about danger in the building.

He knew the securities were coming for him and the only thing he could do was to find an escape route to run away. From where he was standing he could hear the heavy footsteps thumping the stairs and he ran towards the window behind and one of the security men gave a shot that almost hit him. He returned two shots to distract them and stamped the glass window.

When the security men got to the window which he forced his way through, there was no sign of him. He had made a quick smart escape by using the ladder that was mounted outside the building as an emergency exit. The security men’s heart sank when they saw the criminal driving away in his car. They went to the kitchen and David opened the door after being sure it was the security men calling out to him. He was safe and sound.

Minutes later dozens of police vehicles came to the hotel and David was questioned by the police Chief.

“Can you describe how his face looks like?”

“No, he had a mask on his face and I didn’t have any chance to get a picture of him.” David said.

The police Chief went to the desk of the hotel’s security department bureau to get the camera tapes, but found something ridiculous. The camera recordings were scrapped and they suggested it was done by an insider. Their claim was wrong; the gunman had a remote apparatus in his car that can collect computer data from a distance of two kilometers. He exported all the recorded video files and deleted everything from their security computer systems.

David started parking his things into his luggage getting set to return to Switzerland. He had already reserved a flight ticket online and was eager to be back in his office at the World Bank. As he folds his shirts into the bag, he saw a new silver-colored men’s ring with a bulge head and thought maybe it was Julie who had given it to him, but could not remember exactly when and where. So he called her to make a confirmation and clear his mind once and for all.

“Hi, Julie I’m parking my things to get back to Switzerland,” he said. “I was just attacked by a gunman inside my hotel room, but I’m safe and sound.”

That news made her blood run cold.

“Oh, goodness me! David I told you to stay in my home, but you refused and"

“Don’t bring that topic again, Julie. Please, you promised me you won’t quarrel with me again, didn’t you?”

“Yeah, am sorry and are you okay?”

“I’m okay. Thank God.”

“When is your flight take-off time?”

“Um, 4:00 a.m. and it is a one hour flight between Manchester to Zurich.”

“I know that and please have a safe journey. I’ll keep in touch with you and remember; I love you and want to be your future wife.”

“I’ll marry you I promise and do stay happy till we meet again. Bye!"

David ended the call and has forgotten to ask her about the ring in his bag. His mind was crowded with so many thoughts and couldn’t be himself. The bulge in that silver-colored ring contained some amount of cocaine and he would certainly get arrested at the airport once he takes it with him.

Sir Demb called David’s phone later in the night, but it was in a silent mode and he could not notice it either while he was reading the book ‘YOU and YOUR THINKING’ in the taxi heading to the airport. Sir Demb had read his solid business plan and was very much satisfied with it. He had a long, hard look at the feasibility of the business plan and intended to be a shareholder in that company David wanted to build in The Gambia.

At the airport, David moved towards the departure hall for domestic and international passengers and saw tight security at the first check-in desk a stone throw away. He passed through an entry door which had a security metal detector and the red signals flashed followed by a strong alarm. The security personnel standing right there asked him to move back and remove any metallic item he had with him. He did so by removing the silver-colored ring off his finger which he placed on the floor. He passed through the door again and the green light signal gave him the right to move on.

He had forgotten that he had left his silver-colored ring on the floor. That was a perfect escape he didn’t realize because if he had gone with that ring to the check-in desk, the scanner would have certainly indicated it had cocaine and he would be arrested and jailed. The ring was a set up by Coffie when he attacked him inside the hotel.

Exactly five hours later, David was seating in his office at the World Bank in his normal suit attire. It was a busy early morning with tight traffic and rapid snowfall converging on the top of stationary vehicles; tall buildings and on many roofs. He was so occupied because of bunches of documents that he found on the desk of his secretary. They were about expert reports on two African states whose economies were on the verge of collapse due to excessive corruption scandals by senior government officials. The research that he initiated continually showed clear data that government funds were being manipulated in those two countries.

More than a hundred emails popped up when he opened his email accounts. The fourth email he read was Coffie Bello and he had used a fake account with a female name for his own security.

From Madam Royal

Hi, David, BC your days are numbered (BC could mean Bello Coffie) hahahaaaaa. I have all your info because I got access to your bag. You’re a lucky orphan because that ring had a drug. Why didn’t you take it with you to the airport?

Instantly, without a speck of doubt he knew it was Coffie who tried to kill him at the hotel and eventually hid that ring in his bag to trap him into a serious drug trafficking crime. He looked venomously at the email for some moment and his lips curling with disgust. He slammed his fist into his open hand and took a deep breath.

The next email he tapped was that of Sir Demb, who has been calling him via his phone on a number of occasions last night to inform him about his intentions to offer him a multi-million dollar loan or make a partnership deal with him.

Sir Demb Benat

Hi, David, this morning my management team and I sat down and they’ve solidly agreed with me that you deserve a loan deal because of the decent ideas in your business plan. Your vision is clear and I personally want to be part of it as a major shareholder. Please call my office number as soon as you can. (+233) 346400534-2

He grabbed his phone and made a quick call. Sir Demb’s interest in becoming a shareholder was something that he didn’t expect.

“Hello, Sir Demb, I just saw your email on my computer screen. How’re you?”

“I’m extremely happy especially knowing how ambitious you’ve become,” he said. “I mean you’ve always been that ambitious and you just continue to surprise me with your extraordinary intelligence. If you were a space scientist, mankind would have a way to live in planet Pluto.”

David made a hearty laugh that erased his stress over Coffie.

“I have no intelligence, Sir Demb. I always love to achieve the impossible like you said.”

“Okay, I’m sure you already know I want to become a       major Shareholder in Trade-Jet-Africa, right?”

“Yes, and I’m very glad about that because you’re exactly the type of investor I want to partner with. Consider yourself a major shareholder in TJA.”

“Thank you so much and where do we start? I want to have a thirty percent share in your...
