Paula Green writes about her own life as a mother of three daughters and as a poet. She uses the metaphor of food, cooking and meals to represent the nurturing, caring experience of women and also the poet's loving concern for language and fondness for others who have worked with words.
Paula Green is a writer, reviewer and teacher who lives on Auckland's west coast. She has published four solo collections of poems as well as the children's books Flamingo Bendalingo, Aunt Concertina and her Niece Evalina and Macaroni Moon. Green co-edited 99 Ways into New Zealand Poetry, was a judge of the 2008 NZ Post Secondary School Poetry Competition and is the poetry reviewer for the NZ Herald.
