Russell Schneider was a sportswriter and columnist for the Cleveland Plain Dealer for more than thirty years before becoming a freelance writer. He covered the Indians on a daily basis for fourteen years, from 1964 to 1977. Schneider is the author of several books, including The Cleveland Indians Encyclopedia, Lou Boudreau: Covering All the Bases, and The Boy of the Summer of '48.
