• Layers of beauty that exist everywhere around us

lt;p>"As time passes and details fade, the photographs that wechoose to hold onto become our memories. As a resultwhen an image is made, explicitly or subconsciously, decisionsare being made about how things will be remembered."These images are Australian photographer's MarkForbes Collected Memories.
Five years in the making, his debut monograph presents acohesive blend of carefully composed scenes, from fadedinteriors and common, relatable spaces, to the romanceof our environment being reclaimed by nature. Turningthe pages there is a stirring sense of both subtle ordinarybeauty and inherent personality sprinkled across each ofthe large plates. Forbes' photographic preference, usingmedium format film, is slow and methodical-and thisapproach can be felt throughout the quiet pages.
