Ras Perez was born in the village of Grand Bay situated at the southern tip of the island, Dominica. From an early age, he was attracted to music, because his father played saxophone in the local village band. After playing music and recording with local ensembles, he decided to travel outside of his homeland and region, and currently resides in Berlin.
