1939 geboren im US-amerikanischen Colorado, ausgebildet an der Yale University und privat bei Morton Feldman, seit langem in Paris lebend, hat Tom Johnson seine Arbeit als Komponist vielfältig begleitet mit Schriften, Aufsätzen und Werkkommentaren, die in dieser englisch-deutschen Ausgabe erstmals gesammelt zugänglich sind.
