The rest of his career was a rollercoaster of blockbuster hits, personal films, and confounding failures, as Scott carved up action cinema for more than two decades with his own brand of violence and a flair for the dramatic.

Then, in August of 2012, Tony Scott was gone. His death sent shockwaves across the industry, and left a hole in genre filmmaking that has yet to be filled.
