Swiss-born Heinz von Holzen has lived in Bali for over 20 years. An entrepreneur, restaurateur and hotelier, he developed a passion for photography at an early age. In the 1980s, while working as a chef in Singapore, he discovered the art of food photography. He relocated to Bali in 1990 to be the Executive Chef at the Grand Hyatt and later at the Ritz Carlton. In Bali, he met Puji, his Balinese wife and developed a serious passion for Balinese and Indonesian cuisine. Over the years, he has written and photographed nine cookbooks. Today, Heinz and Puji run an award-winning restaurant as well as a charming resort in Bali. Heinz has travelled extensively into very remote parts of Indonesia as well as to the top of numerous mountains and volcanoes across Bali and Indonesia. This has resulted in thousands of stunning images of people, villages, scenery and every day life that he now shares with you in this publication
