This is a book for adolescents who have contemplated suicide, or who may be at risk for doing so. As a teenager, author DeQuincy Lezine was one of the many young people each year who attempt suicide. Instead, he sought psychiatric help and went on to found the first ever campus-based chapter of the Suicide Prevention Action Network USA. DeQuincy A. Lezine, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Rochester Center for the Study and Prevention of Suicide. David Brent, MD, is Academic Chief of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, and Professor of Child Psychiatry, Pediatrics & Epidemiology, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where he holds the Endowed Chair in Suicide Studies.
