She spent her days playing in the woods, writing poetry, songs, and stories, and reading lots of books. While attending college, she realized her talent when a professor told her she should publish one of her writings. After marrying her husband, Charlie, she began teaching kindergarten. They soon started a family and she spent her time raising their children but continued writing.
