Having my copy of 'The night before Christmas' ready for its annual outing, I realised that the story I was about to read bore little relevance to today, and so a parody of the traditional story came into being.

Alongside is the story of a chicken and her race for freedom. Living in a rural area, the author often sees a stray chicken ferreting away outside the garden where she belongs and has wondered whether this was anything to do with a 'break for freedom'. And so, the story of a chicken who puts all her faith in a wing and a prayer to realise her dream of blissful ‘cont-HEN-tment’.
Included in all this is the author’s signature icon which is that of a bee. Within each page there is a bee to find, amongst the myriad of details within each illustration, and to hopefully keep everyone entertained.
