Kochka was born in Lebanon in 1964 and her family moved to France in 1976 as a result of the war. She studied law but decided to devote herself to writing for children. She has written over eighty books for young children and teenagers. She lives in Sarthe, in the west of France. Marie Leghima is an illustrator, graphic designer and ceramist.
