Revised and updated, this is a "survival guide" to leisure activities for children in and around Melbourne - written for parents by parents. It covers party venues, child-friendly restaurants and cafes, and activities from camping, golfing and fishing to skating and bowling.
Desperate to find a kid's birthday party venue that your child hasn't been to so many times it's starting to feel like a second home? Looking for a place you can take them for the weekend that's easy on your nerves and wallet, and fun for the whole family? With their children in tow, the authors have adventured in all the playgrounds, got lost in all the mazes, taken trains, buses and bicycles, painted, bowled, fished, golfed, camped and skated. They've eaten at child-friendly restaurants, cafes and kiosks which serve decent food that kid and parent alike will enjoy and have partied at all the kiddie venues on and off the beaten track. They've checked out all the activities for those who want to rough it and get physical, or for those who just want to put their feet up and let someone else supervise. The result is "Melbourne for Kids" - a "survival guide" to leisure activities for children, written for parents, by parents.
