Julia J. Bartkowiak is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Clarion University in Pennsylvania. Uma Narayan is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Vassar College. She is the author of Dislocating Cultures: Identities, Traditions, and Third World Feminism (1997), which won the 1998 Victoria Schuck award of the American Political Science Association, and co-editor (with Mary Lyndon Shanley) of Reconstructing Political Theory: Feminist Perspectives (Penn State, 1997), which received an honorable mention for the same award.
