Chapter Two:
31-Days Motivations

Introduction

The 31-Days Motivations were inspired by the Scripture: “… each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.” - 1 Corinthians 3:13 (NKJV).

In December 2017, I (Martina) was reflecting on the end of another year and prayerfully talking during my meditation with the Lord. He revealed the word “Transformation,” because many of us take December to review the end of one year and prepare for another year ahead.

Both December and January have 31 Days, so I decided to choose key words clearly revealed to me as motivation and meditation for my Clarity Coaching practice.

My hope is that you will reflect and think about these transformative words and Scriptures to make successful changes within your life. All Scripture references are from the New King James Version of the Holy Bible.

31 Days of Transformational Clarity

(Foundational Principles for Life and Strategic Coaching:

by Martina Coates-Nance)

Day 1 – FOCUS: Clearing distractions by emphasizing one area where you may need to build/strengthen your skills and abilities or finish a project/goal. “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” Proverbs 16:9

Day 2 – INTEGRITY: Maintaining your standard of ethics and honor during adversity by staying true to your moral character. “Let me be weighed on honest scales, that God may know my integrity.” Job 31:6

Day 3 – ACCOUNTABILITY: Surrounding yourself with people who will keep you on course and focused and serve as an accountability partner. “And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.” Genesis 15:6; “So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.” Romans 14:12

Day 4 – ACTION:  Accepting the assignment, your calling, and doing the work! “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:23 – 24

Day 5 – ALIGNMENT: One of the keys to clarity is aligning your core values to your vision.

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man/woman of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16 - 17

Day 6 – AFFIRMATIONS: Declaring with your words to make positive and impactful change in your life and the lives of others. “These things I have spoken to you, that in ME you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Day 7 – COMMITMENT: Consistently taking steps, big or small, in pursuit of your passion or long-term relationships. Scriptures: “Commit your works to the Lord, And your thoughts will be established.”  Proverbs 16:3; “Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.” Psalm 37:5

Day 8 – COLLABORATION: Connecting with others who share similar or common goals and understand the value of partnerships.  “Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor.” Ecclesiastes 4:9

Day 9 – SETTING EXPECTATIONS:  Establishing clear standards, needs, requirements, and boundaries in the beginning eliminates confusion and frustration. The Ten Commandments – Exodus 20: 1 – 17

Day 10 – PURPOSE: For entrepreneurs, leaders, and potential business owners, clear understanding of your WHY, your unique gifts and talents as a service-provider. “the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve. Matthew 20:28

Day 11 – CLEAR CHOICES: Removing the physical and mental clutter when it comes to making life-changing decisions through meditation.  “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:17

Day 12 – TIME: Clearly understanding that healing - physical, mental, or spiritual, is a process that takes time.  “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1

Day 13WISDOM: The power of KNOWING when to move away from people, places, and habits that are stopping your growth.  “Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge!” Romans 11:33; “Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding.” Proverbs 3:13

Day 14 – TRANSFORMATION:  A willingness to change for the manifestation of CLARITY to take place.  “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2

Day 15 – BELIEVE: How much do you believe that infinite and amazing possibilities are within your grasp? Believe in yourself.  “Therefore, I say to you, whatever you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” Mark 11:24

Day 16 – REVELATION: The knowledge revealed to you in the Word of God as you “go through” situations of life.  “The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:19

Day 17 – DECLUTTER: Clutter and Clarity cannot coexist in the same space or same place (physically, mentally, or spiritually).

“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.  Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, your double minded. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.” James 4: 8, 10

Day 18 – STRENGTH: In finding CLARITY, you realize the strength and perseverance that lie within you.  “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 48:1;  “And he said, the Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; the God of my strength, in whom I will trust.” 2 Samuel 22:2 –

Day 19 – EMPATHY: Understanding the life experience of another through their story. “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.” “Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” 1 John 4:7, 11

Day 20 – TRUST: Creating a relationship safe space to be emotionally free and openly communicate without judgment.  “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”  Proverbs 3:5 –

Day 21 – OBJECTIVITY: The ability to put your preconceived stereotypes and prejudices aside, to clearly view someone in humanity.  “Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” 1 Corinthians 1:10

Day 22 – LEGACY:  What characteristics and core values are you passing down to future generations?  “Knowing the tree by its fruit.”  “I am the vine, you are the branches, He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5

Day 23 – VISION: Having a CLEAR plan or goal that aligns to your calling and purpose.  “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time.” Habakkuk 2:2-3a

Day 24 – GUIDING PRINCIPLES: What are the principles that clearly guide your life and your calling?  “Be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12

Day 25 – CELEBRATION: Take time to celebrate every step of your amazing journey, no matter how big or small.   “This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalms 118:24 “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I will say, rejoice.” Philippians 4:4

Day 26 – CONSISTENCY: Making daily, weekly, or monthly progress moves you forward in your life, career, or business.  “...he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.” Daniel 6:10

Day 27 – BEING PRESENT: CLEARLY knowing when the moment requires your undivided attention.  “Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, and give attention to know understanding.” Proverbs 4:1; “My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings.” Proverbs 4:20

Day 28 – PEACE: The inner calm you achieve through spiritual and mental clarity.  “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,...
