This book presents a collection of chapters that revise past, present and future approaches related to Shakespeare on Film in order to trace the models, methods, and materials used by teachers and scholars when dealing with these issues in and out of the classroom. The volume offers the reader practical examples of teaching textual analysis through film and the arts as methodological case-studies that might be adapted by other instructors or enjoyed by readers interested in the field.

Jorge L. Bueno Alonso is senior lecturer at the Department of English, French and German, School of Philology and Translation Studies, University of Vigo (Spain). He lectures on Old and Middle English Literature and on Film Studies at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His main research topics focus on (Neo)Medieval English Literature (OE poetry in translation, translatorial variation, J. R. R. Tolkien) and on Film and Visual Studies, especially on Shakespeare in Film and on the link between literary genres and film/visual genres. He has published widely on these matters not only in scientific journals but also in monographic volumes on philological and cultural studies. His four published books cover these issues too. His translations of Beowulf, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and The Complete Exeter Book Riddles into Galician received the AEDEAN Best Translation of the Year Awards in 2010, 2013 and 2021.
