This volume examines past as well as contemporary Maghrebean texts, and explores new trajectories for Maghrebean literature and art. It sways between tradition and modernity by mapping the history, art, and literature of the Maghreb region. By attempting to grasp the very meaning of being Maghrebean and belonging to the land, a plethora of Maghrebean works is examined and analyzed by professors and young researchers. This work gathers contributions from different Maghrebean and non-Maghrebean scholars who focus on the importance of poetics in (re)making roots and (re)tracing routes.
Bootheina Majoul is Associate Professor of English Literature at the High Institute of Languages of Tunis (ISLT), University of Carthage, Tunisia. She holds an MA in cross cultural poetics from the same institution, and a PhD in English Literature/Letters from the Faculty of Manouba, Tunisia. She has published two books, edited three volumes, co-edited five volumes and is the author of several academic articles and collections of poems.
