Thirsting for God
I long to drink of you, O God, to drink deeply from the streams of pleasure flowing from your presence. My longings overwhelm me for more of you!
PSALM 42:1
God, I want to know your heart more than anything else in this life. As I come after you today, may I be met by the overwhelming pleasure of your presence. I know that there is no reason to feel guilt, unworthiness, or inadequacy when I meet with you. You welcome me with open arms every time I turn to you.
As I lean into this journey of becoming closer to you through prayer, may the thirst of my soul grow, even as I am met by the Living Waters of your presence. You are the Fountain of Life within, filling me up with the reviving waters of your Word. You know that I love you, Lord Jesus. You know that I want to partner with you in prayer in the heavenly realm, echoing your heart in my life and in this world. Teach me to pray as you taught your disciples and give me your grace-strength to choose to press in even when I don’t feel like it. I long for deeper communion with you, and I know I will find it in the place of prayer. You are my Beloved Friend, and I offer myself as a living sacrifice today.

Invitation
Listen! Are you thirsty for more? Come to the refreshing waters and drink… Pay attention and come closer to me, and hear, that your total being may flourish. I will enter into an everlasting covenant with you, and I will show you the same faithful love that I showed David.
ISAIAH 55:1, 3
Father of love, thank you for inviting me into fellowship with you. You are not impatiently waiting for me to get it together. You are full of joy, not condemnation. I throw aside the guilt that has kept me from approaching you with the confidence of a dearly loved child. As I draw near to you, I find that your kindness never wavers and your love never recedes. You have been waiting for this moment, right here and now, longing to commune with me.
I will not stay on the sidelines any longer; I won’t circle your table, hoping for crumbs to fall in my direction. I come boldly before you, believing that I have a place at your table of plenty. Not only do I have a place to sit and feast, but you have also given me your listening ear. As I use my voice, whether with a whisper or a shout, you delight in the exchange of fellowship. I freely offer you my worship today, Jesus, for you are always worthy.

No Shame
Love does not traffic in shame and disrespect, nor selfishly seek its own honor. Love is not easily irritated or quick to take offense.
1 CORINTHIANS 13:5
Dearest Jesus, you never once made people around you ashamed of their prayers or condemned them for not praying. As I search the Gospels, I find your kind nature leaping off the pages as you instruct your followers and friends in how to grow in relationship with God the Father. You are familiar with my weakness, and you are patient with my process. You do not rush me into understanding though you are constantly teaching me with your wisdom. You know the limits of my perceptions, and yet you break through in revelation-light, revealing the expanse of your kindness. Thank you!
Meet me with the strength of your love today and remove every hesitation in my heart with the overwhelming goodness of your affection. When I glance at you, I find that you are already moving toward me in mercy. There is nothing that can separate me from your love. Wash away the remnants of doubt as you overcome my senses with the purity of your compassion. Nothing else can compare to the wonder of your love that has already covered me completely. The power of your resurrection life is alive in me, and you are doing a new thing. Thank you, God!

Made for God
Brothers and sisters, we must remain in close communion with God, no matter what our situation was when we were first called to follow Jesus.
1 CORINTHIANS 7:24
God, everything about me was made for you and created for your presence. Having been made in your image, I know that the true longing of my heart is to know you. What a wonderfully mysterious truth that you long to know me, too, in the context of unhindered relationship! You are a good Father, and you do not hide yourself from me.
There is a deep well within me that longs to be filled by the abundant love of your heart. Fill me to overflow with the generosity of your mercy-kindness. I enter your courts with thanksgiving in my heart, praising you for all that you have done and for all that you will do! Still, knowing you is better than any gift I could ever receive from you. You are the ultimate goal, God, for you are goodness itself. I draw close to you, trusting that you will draw even closer to me. Quench my thirst, Lord, and satisfy the longings that reach out to you with the pure pleasure of your presence. Only you can satisfy me.

True Source
When I’m near you my heart and my soul will sing and worship with my joyful songs of you, my true source and spring of life!
PSALM 84:2
Lord, I enter into your presence and come before you with an open heart, longing to connect with you, my true source. In your presence, I find empowering strength for every circumstance and every relationship. You never leave me to figure anything out on my own. You are my wisdom, my teacher, my guide, and my strength. You are it, God, the source of my very life.
Nothing else on this side of heaven compares to the beauty of communing with you. There is abundance of life in fellowship with your Spirit. I come alive in this holy exchange. You take my weariness, and you lift my burdens as I offer you praise and honor. You have my attention, Lord, for it is in you that I find the depths of my longings fulfilled. No one else can compare to the pure love that you offer. Who else can call the dead to life? Who can take the ashes of my defeat and bring beauty out of them? Only you, Father! I will not hold myself back from you today, for it is in the light of your face that I find my true place. I belong to you and with you. Oh, how I love you!

The Father’s Living Vessels
For indeed, we are the temple of the living God, just as God has said: I will make my home in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
2 CORINTHIANS 6:16
Father, I was created to be your living vessel. I was made to be filled by all that you are. You are my substance and my content, and I am your container. You have put yourself in me and made your home here. Welcome, Lord! May you find yourself fully at home in my heart. May I become full of all that you are as you make your home in me. I continually surrender myself to your will and ways on earth as it is in heaven.
My soul longs for more of you, Lord. You are my supply. I need a fresh infilling from the Fountain of Life. Fill me up, Lord! You satisfy me with your palpable presence within. You are the Living Water that revives me from the inside out. I am your temple, Lord, and my life is your offering. I will not stop submitting myself to you, for your ways are better than my own. Your wisdom takes all things into account, while my knowledge is limited. You are my God, and you are my sustenance. Purify my being as you dwell within me.

Call on Him without Ceasing
Make your life a prayer. And in the midst of everything be always giving thanks, for this is God’s perfect plan for you in Christ Jesus.
1 THESSALONIANS 5:17–18
Christ Jesus, may my life, hidden in yours, be a continual prayer before you. I breathe you in, calling on you without ceasing, and I awaken to life in the exchange of the breath of your presence meeting me with your response. May our fellowship remain uninterrupted, like a continual conversation that ebbs and flows but never reaches an end.
I will not stop calling on you. Continually, I turn my attention toward you. May I be quick to offer the gratitude of my heart, seeing where you are already working in my life. There is no trial or circumstance that I am alone in. You are with me. You are my holy hope, my unshakeable foundation, and you are my close confidant. You respond to my cries with your very presence. You are my constant comfort and my courage. As I pour out my heart to you, I leave space to receive from the overflow of your abundant love that meets me in every moment. Thank you for always being so near, Lord. You are the strength of my life!

Jesus, My Partner in Prayer
Jesus, the Anointed One…gave his life for us, and even more than that, he has conquered death and is now risen, exalted, and enthroned by God at his right hand. So how could he possibly condemn us since he is continually praying for our triumph?
ROMANS 8:34
Jesus, you are my life, my strength, my victory, and my hope of glory! You are the life and power of my prayers. Your life within mine is my purest prayer life. What a beautiful partnership we have. Your constant intercession on my behalf gives me courage to pray without fear or hesitation. I borrow the strength of your grace, given freely, and partner with your plans and purposes for the earth and...
