Buddhist monk Shoukei Matsummoto offers guidance on how you can quieten and calm your busy mind.
Life is full of endless noise - from phones, voices, traffic and television. We are also subject to internal noise - worries, fears, destructive emotions and racing thoughts. Fuelling stress and anxiety, this overload is harmful to our mental and physical health, distracting us from living fulfilling, purposeful and peaceful lives. This beautiful and thought-provoking book explains the causes of the 'noise', looking at the way we live, our relationships with other people, money and technology. Drawing on the practices and teachings of Buddhism, it reveals the benefits of turning our consciousness inwards and with a new awareness teaches how to quieten our minds. Offering powerful insights on avoiding comparison with others and living by our own rules, simple tips on daily routines, breathing and gratitude, A Quiet Mind is the key to achieving ease, finding balance and calm in a chaotic world.

Shoukei Matsumoto is a Buddhist monk at the Komjoji Temple in Tokyo.
