This volume is based on a symposium, "Cognitive and Psychosocial Dysfunctions Associated with Sex Chromosome Abnormalities," presented at the 1986 Annual Meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. It contains reports from individual research groups and a psychological study.

"Daniel B. Berch is an Associate Professor of psychology at the University of Cincinnati and Research Coordinator at the University Affiliated Cincinnati Center for Developmental Disorders. His primary research interest is in cognitive development, specializing in the information-processing approach for studying the development of spatial abilities. He obtained his B.A. from the University of Michigan and his Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico. Bruce G. Bender is a Pediatric Neuropsychologist at the National Jewish Center for Immunology and Respiratory Medicine and Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Denver, Colorado. He has studied extensively children with sex chromosome abnormalities and children with asthma. He received his B.S. from North Central College and his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin."
