Der 51. Band der interdisziplinären Zeitschrift enthält neun Aufsätze. Diese befassen sich mit Einbäumen im Museum für Vor- und Frühgeschichte, Ziegendarstellungen in Petroglyphen des südlichen Kasachstan und Kirgisistan, der “Paradiesfestung” in West-Aserbaidschan, früheisenzeitlichen Kurganen und ihren Peripherien in Nekropolen der unteren Transwolga-Steppe, den germanischen Gegnern Roms 235 n.Chr., dem ostpreußischen Gräberfeld von Miętkie / Mingfen, der Kultfigur von Altfriesack in Brandenburg, Schliemanns Berichten zu seinem Aufenthalt in den Niederlanden sowie Gustaf Kossinna im Osten am Beispiel der KAFU-Forschung in Lublin. Darauf folgen die Jahresberichte 2018 zur Arbeit des Berliner Museums für Vor- und Frühgeschichte, zu Zahlen, Daten und Fakten des Museumsjahrs, zum Deutschen Verband für Archäologie e.V. [DVA], zur Arbeit der Kommission zur Erforschung von Sammlungen archäologischer Funde und Unterlagen aus dem nordöstlichen Mitteleuropa [KAFU] sowie zum Forschungsprojekt des Museums zu “Forschungskontinutität und Kontinuitätsforschung - Siedlungsarchäologische Grundlagenforschung zur Eisenzeit im Baltikum”.
The 51st volume of the interdisciplinary journal contains nine papers dealing with dugout canoes in the Museum of Pre- and Protohistory, images of goats in petroglyphs from southern Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, the “Paradise Fortress” in Western Azerbaijan, Early Iron Age kurgans and their periphery in necropoleis of the Lower Trans-Volga Steppe, Rome’s Germanic adversaries of A.D. 235, the Eastern Prussian cemetery at Miętkie / Mingfen, the ritual statue from Altfriesack in Brandenburg, Schliemann’s report on his stay in the Netherlands as well as with Gustaf Kossinna in the East by the example of KAFU’s research in Lublin. This is followed by the annual reports 2018 on the work of the Museum of Pre- and Protohistory in Berlin, on figures, dates, and facts of the year in the museum, on the work of the German Association of Archaeology [DVA], and the Commission for the Investigation of Collections of Archaeological Finds and Documents in North-Eastern Central Europe [KAFU], and by a report on the museum’s research project on ‘Continuity of research and research on continuity - basic investigations on settlement archaeology in the Iron Age Baltic’.
