Milton H. Erickson, MD, An American Healer
Crown House Publishing (Verlag)
978-1-78583-349-6 (ISBN)
In Milton H Erickson MD: An American Healer read about the man Milton H Erickson, rather than his psychotherapeutic techniques. Told from the perspective of three of his children, this book uniquely explores the personal side of this world-famous psychiatrist.
It is a remarkable spiritual journey. As a part of his life-long struggle to overcome the physical effects of polio, Erickson acquired prodigious observational and interactional skills, as well as a powerfully calm healing presence.
With photographs, stories and downloadable material of one of his clinical sessions, this book brings to light the quiet spirituality of an extraordinary healer.
For anybody interested in the life and works of Milton H. Erickson, M.D.

Betty Alice Erickson was an international teacher of Ericksonian psychotherapy and hypnosis, and a licensed professional counselor and marriage and family therapist in private practice for over 25 years in Dallas, Texas. Her published works include the co-authored Hope and Resiliency, as well as chapters contributed to numerous other books, and articles in various professional journals. Recipient of an honorary Ph.D. from the Republic of Armenia Ministry of Education and Science in 2012, she received a number of awards and honours during her career - including the Milton Erickson Gesellschaft (Institute) (MEG) Prize for Excellence in Teaching and Promoting Ericksonian Hypnosis and Psychotherapy in October 2001, and the Premio Internazionale Franaco Granone Award given by the Centro Italiano di Ipnosi Clinico-Sperimentale in October 2003. She was also an honorary member of the Swedish Society for Clinical Hypnosis and of the Milton Erickson Gesellschaft of Germany (MEG). Bradford Keeney, Ph.D., is an internationally renowned spiritual teacher, shaman, traditional healer, creative therapist, and improvisational performer. As a fieldworker, Keeney has been called "the Marco Polo of psychology and an anthropologist of the spirit" by the editors of Utne Reader. He spent over a decade travelling the globe, living with spiritual teachers and healers who trusted him to share their words with others - modern cultures in need of elder wisdom. The result of Keeney's work is one of the broadest and most intense field studies of healing, chronicled in the critically acclaimed book series, Profiles of Healing, an eleven-volume encyclopedia of the world's healing practices. A display honouring his breakthrough fieldwork and contributions to understanding the origin of human culture is permanently installed as an exhibition in the Origins Centre Museum, Johannesburg, South Africa.
