The Author: David B. Gowler is Professor of Religion and Philosophy at Chowan College in Murfreesboro, North Carolina. He formerly was Assistant Professor of Religion at Berry College in Rome, Georgia. He received his Ph.D. in New Testament Studies from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, and his B.A. in Religious Studies from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. He has also published in a wide variety of journals.
