The Story of Humankind is a comprehensive up-to-date survey of the scientific accounts of the creation of the universe, the physical origins and evolution of mankind, and the continuous search for spiritual fulfillment.
This book sets out, in a clear and jargon-free way, the most up-to-date scientific discoveries concerning the creation of the universe and the physical origins of life on planet earth. The author conveys the wonder and mystery of the process by which a few small bundles of self-replicating cells have evolved-over billions of years-into all forms of life, including Homo sapiens.
Other topics covered are: what is the explanation for the existence of suffering and evil? What is morality? What is free will? And what is the impact of spirituality and religion on our lives today?

After graduating from Sheffield University, Eli S. LeJeune worked for several years in a financial and commercial environment, both in Britain and abroad. For the past 20 years he has been involved in the study of natural history, anthropology, the evolution of ethical ideas and, in particular, the interface between science and religion. This book came to fruition after he gave a series of lectures to audiences of all religious faiths and of none. The author believes that spirituality cannot be ignored in this age of science and technology. Eli is married to Rosalie and they have three daughters.
