Few places awaken the imagination like Teufelsberg. One of thehighest points in Berlin, this ruin mountain is made up of manylayers of history - each intimately linked to the city's past.Beneath the rubble of WWII Berlin lies the foundation stone of "Germania", the Nazi's failed world capital. Perched on top is the iconic silhouette of the Allies' listening station, a relic from the Cold War. Today, it is one of the most famous abandoned sites in Berlin. This ruinology dissects these layers of history and tells the stories behind the ruins: from the utopias and nightmares of the past to today's ruin fascination, and considers the future of this unusual place. As the tale of Teufelsberg unfolds, it reveals a giant metaphor, and the secrets of our fascination.
