Charles K. Armstrong is Professor of History and former Director of the Weatherhead East Asian Institute at Columbia University. He is the author of Tyranny of the Weak: North Korea and the World, 1950 1992 (2013) and co-editor of Korea at the Center: Dynamics of Regionalism in Northeast Asia (2006), among other books. He has written widely on East Asian and international history.
