The Editor: Karl Galinsky is the Floyd Cailloux Centennial Professor of Classicsat the University of Texas at Austin. Born in Strassburg, Alsace, in 1942 he received his Ph.D. at Princeton University in 1966. He has been a Resident and Visiting Scholar at the American Academy in Rome and has received numerous awards, including fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment of the Humanities, and the American Council of Learned Societies. His many publications include books and articles on Roman literature, art history and religion.
