Map of Cornwall originally published in 1611 by John Speed, digitally re-mastered from an antique original and printed onto photographic quality media. Supplied flat in a polypropylene sleeve and back board, the 20" x 16" (approx. 508 mm x 406 mm) print can be removed from the protective sleeve for framing or retained in the sleeve.
In the top left hand corner is a wonderful view of Launceston, showing the old town walls, castle, priory and prison. Eleven coats of arms are illustrated on this map, the armorial devices of the Earls and Dukes of Cornwall run along the bottom, together with the Royal coats of arms at the top of the map. Running along the right hand side of the map are drawings of "The Hurlers", an ancient stone circle, and "The Chesewring". These, together with the presence of monsters in "The British See" and ancient sites such as St Michaels Mount and Tintagel Castle, really complement this map, and make it a lovely gift for anyone with a link to Cornwall.
