S.L. Kotar is a senior researcher and supervisor of the electrocardiographic monitoring laboratory at St. Louis University Hospital. She has been writing for over three decades, including television scripts (Gunsmoke) and nonfiction (non-invasive cardiology, early television). She lives in Ellisville, Missouri. J.E. Gessler was co-publisher of The Kepi, a magazine about iconoclastic interpretations of the American Civil War and nineteenth century life. Writing credits include the design and creation of authorized websites for actors Darren McGavin, Kathie Brown and Timothy Dalton; an episode of Gunsmoke; and books about the Riverboat television series and historical steamboating. Gessler lives in Ellisville, Missouri.
