Stochastic Dynamic Response and Stability of Ships and Offshore Platforms
Springer Verlag, Singapore
978-981-99-5852-8 (ISBN)
The textbook is intended for upper undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in advanced dynamic analysis technologies, researchers investigating nonlinear systems under stochastic dynamic excitations, and civil/mechanical/structural/ocean engineers working on designing and optimization of real-world nonlinear engineering systems.
The basis of English translation of this book from its Chinese original manuscript was done with the help of artificial intelligence. A subsequent human revision of the content was done by the author.
Dr. Yingguang Wang received his B.S. and Ph.D degrees in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, in 1989 and 2008, respectively, and the M. S. degree from the University of Washington, Seattle, U. S. A. in 2001. Since Jan. 2012, Dr. Wang has been in School of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Civil Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University as an Associate Professor. Dr. Wang focuses on the research of stochastic dynamic analysis of nonlinear systems. His recent research interests include: marine dynamics and hydrodynamics, ship stability, system identification of marine dynamical systems, extreme dynamic responses of offshore energy systems, etc. Since 2008, Dr. Wang has published 61 peer-reviewed academic papers in leading international journals as the first author. He is a member of ASCE and ASME and serves as the Associate Editor of the SNAME (Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers) Journal of Ship Production and Design. He was a recipient of first-class Science and Technology Advancement Award bestowed by the Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China in 2018 and a recipient of a Grand Prize of the Science and Technology Award of China Machinery Industry bestowed by the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society in 2018. Dr. Yingguang Wang also won the prestigious Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018.
