Planet Earth is a fascinating place: there are rocks that move by themselves and fish that fall from the sky in a storm! Find out if mountains really can move, or what would happen if the Moon took a trip away from Earth! Join Professor Splat on his science adventures to learn all about the strangest aspects of planet Earth.
Strange Science covers an array of amusing and enticing science subjects through fun comic strip stories, supported by further explanation spreads to consolidate the learning. A useful glossary and fun quiz are also included.
Perfect for readers aged 7+ and all curious minds.
Anna Claybourne has written over 150 children's books on all kinds of subjects, from sharks, black holes and splitting the atom to how to draw, Shakespeare's life, and Greek myths and legends. She knows a lot about conservation in the rain forests of Costa Rica as she once volunteered there for three months. She likes space, sewing and music, plays the trombone and loves going camping. As a young boy Tim was constantly doodling, finding any excuse to put pen to paper. Since turning his much-loved hobby into a profession, Tim has achieved success illustrating and authoring children books and working on commissions for clients, such as Habitat, Paperchase and the BBC. With influences ranging from Dr. Seuss, Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat, Tim's vibrant illustrations are full of humour and a sense of mischief, and you can always count on him to inject plenty of personality.
