Jai Kumar Batra is the Secretary, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), New Delhi. Prior to this, he was the Director and Professor of Accounting and Finance at Jagannath International Management School (JIMS), New Delhi, affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi, and All India Council for Technical Education. CA (Dr) Batra, a university rank holder, obtained the Bachelor of Commerce degree and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak. He obtained Master of Commerce degree and PhD degree from Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra (formerly known as Agra University). He is Associate Member of the Institute of Charted Accountants of India, New Delhi, and the Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Kolkata. He has a rich diversified experience of over 26 years in industry and academics aiming for senior level assignments in the area of accounting, finance, operations and administration. He has the experience of teaching corporate accounting, cost and management accounting, financial management, financial analysis and decision-making and financial services subjects.
