Juan Carlos Moreno-Piraján studied chemistry and obtained its PhD in Chemistry at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and as of July 1995 he is linked to the chemistry department of the Faculty of Sciences of the Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia). Obtaining a Magna Cum Laude grade both in his undergraduate thesis as well as in his PhD thesis. He is Director of the Porous Solids and Calorimetry research group. His area of interest is calorimetry applied to the characterization of porous solids, which he uses in the characterization of special materials. He designs and builds his own calorimeters in particular immersion and adsorption calorimeters. He has more than 350 publications on thermodynamics to his name Liliana Giraldo Gutierrez studied chemistry and obtained her PhD in Chemistry at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. She has been linked to this university since 1990, obtaining a Magna Cum Laude grade both in her undergraduate thesis as well as in her PhD thesis. She is director of the Calorimetry Laboratory of the Department of Chemistry. Her area of interest is calorimetry, which she uses in the characterization of special materials. She designs and builds her own calorimeters. She has more than 300 publications on thermodynamics to her name. Fernando Gómez-Granados graduated from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, a specialist in Geographic Information Systems from the Instituto Geográfico Agustín Codazzi Universidad Distrital, Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry of the Environment and Contamination from the Universitat de Barcelona, Spain with research in analytical methodology for the determination of antibiotic residues in environmental samples. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, teaching in analytical chemistry. Has held academic–administrative positions in the Department of Chemistry (academic coordination) and the Curricular Area of Chemistry (director). He has worked in coal exploitation and characterization research, including petrographic analysis. He also worked in the formulation of mixtures and production of metallurgical coke, as well as in the design of databases and implementation of geographic information systems of the coal resource. His interest is currently focused on the study of adsorption processes of different analytes with activated carbon prepared, characterized, and modified from carbon materials. Diana Hernández-Monje obtained her bachelor’s degree in chemistry at Universidad Pedagógica Nacional in 2009, her MSc. degree in Chemistry 2017 (Magna Cum Laude) at Universidad Nacional de Colombia and she obtained her PhD degree in Chemistry in 2022 at Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Summa cum laude). Her interest area is related to porous solids, immersion calorimetric studies, enthalpic characterizations and gas phase adsorption. She performs VOCs adsorption on gas and liquid phase and calorimetric determinations, according to that, she has written 11 scientific publications related to her research activity.
