This book provides a clear and basic understanding of the concept of reservoir engineering to professionals and students in the oil and gas industry. The content contains detailed explanations of key theoretic and mathematical concepts and provides readers with the logical ability to approach the various challenges encountered in daily reservoir/field operations for effective reservoir management. Chapters are fully illustrated and contain numerous calculations involving the estimation of hydrocarbon volume in-place, current and abandonment reserves, aquifer models and properties for a particular reservoir/field, the type of energy in the system and evaluation of the strength of the aquifer if present. The book is written in oil field units with detailed solved examples and exercises to enhance practical application. It is useful as a professional reference and for students who are taking applied and advanced reservoir engineering courses in reservoir simulation, enhanced oil recovery and well test analysis.

Okotie Sylvester is a Lecturer in the Department of Petroleum Engineering, Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, Delta State, Nigeria. He holds an M.Eng degree in Reservoir Engineering and B.Eng Degree in Petroleum Engineering both at the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. In his undergraduate degree, he graduated as the best student in Petroleum Engineering. Before joining FUPRE, He has worked for ExxonMobil Nigeria unlimited and Lenswell Oil Services, Nigeria. He consult for Integrated Petroleum Resources, Platform Petroleum, Midwestern Oil and Gas, Lenswell Oil Services and other oil operating and service companies. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineering (SPEi), a member of Nigeria Society of Engineers and a registered engineer with COREN. His area of specialization includes reservoir engineering, welltest analysis and interpretation, reservoir simulation/study, enhanced recovery methods, PVT analysis, mathematical modeling, computer programming and applications. Okotie Sylvester is also an author of more than fifteen publications and other books such as Application of mathematics techniques to engineering and science practice, Understanding the basis of rock and fluid properties, Introduction to offshore technology and a book chapter of Elsevier publication 'The Political Ecology of Oil and Gas Activities in the Nigerian Aquatic Ecosystem'.

Ikporo Bibobra is a Lecturer at the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, Niger Delta University, Amasoma, Bayelsa State, Nigeria. She holds an M.Eng degree in Reservoir Engineering from University of Port Harcourt and B.Eng Degree in Chemical Engineering from Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Rivers State, Nigeria. She is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPEi), Nigeria Society of Engineers & a registered member of COREN. Her area of specialization includes rock and fluid properties, welltest analysis, reservoir simulation, recovery methods. She is also an author of more than ten publications and a book chapter of Elsevier publication 'The Political Ecology of Oil and Gas Activities in the Nigerian Aquatic Ecosystem'.
