Diego R. Batista, Ph.D. is an associate professor of Spanish at Weber State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Spanish from the University of Oklahoma, Secondary Spanish Teaching Credential from California State University, San Bernardino, and a master's degree in Spanish literature and linguistics from California State University, Fullerton. Dr. Batista's research interests include literature, film, and cultural studies from and about the Canary Islands, as well as the literary and historical relationships between Spain and Latin America, especially pertaining to marginal territories and transatlantic literature.
