The Army Museums Ogilby Trust is a charitable organisation which exists to support the Regimental and Corps museums of the British Army. We represent over 140 collections across the United Kingdom, offering funding, training, specialist advice and advocacy. Th e Army Museums Ogilby Trust was founded in 1954 by Colonel Robert J L Ogilby DSO DL TD. Having served with the London Scottish Regiment during the First World War, Colonel Ogilby’s experiences made him a passionate believer in the power of regimental identity on a British soldier’s fighting spirit and sense of belonging. His Trust was set up to support the rich heritage of the individual Regiments and Corps through the objects, archives and stories which are represented within the network of Army museums. Originally focusing on research and publications, the Trust has expanded since its founding in response to the needs of the network. In the early 1990s a grant giving programme was established and introduced, and further investment was made in providing training and specialist support. We exist to help with the long-term care and support of the rich military and social history represented within the many Army museums across the UK.
