This report is a systematic analysis of hearing thresholds within the Irish Labour Force which was carried out over a three-year period by the Centre for Insurance Studies at University College Dublin. The study involved clinical audiological hearing examinations of over 1000 individuals.
This report is a systematic analysis of hearing thresholds within the Irish Labour Force which was carried out over a three-year period by the Centre for Insurance Studies at University College Dublin. The study involved clinical audiological hearing examinations of over 1000 individuals - in addition to a comprehensive questionnaire from each individual - drawn from a countrywide sample of the labour force. The findings suggest, amongst other things, that noise exposure may not be the major determinant of hearing loss.
