Suzanne Lenglen, Helen Wills Moody, Maureen Connolly, Billie Jean King, Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova, Steffi Graf, Monica Seles, Venus and Serena Williams, and others are listed chronologically. Photographs, statistics and records of each player are included, as well as results of all the Grand Slams and the Fed Cup, Olympic Games, Wightman Cup, and Hopman Cup competitions.

The author is donating all royalties to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the grassroots network dedicated to the fight against breast cancer.

Dennis J. Phillips is a member of the library faculty at Pennsylvania State University and the library director at Penn State Lehigh Valley. He is the author of other books about tennis and golf.
